PRIVACY POLICY. This web site is operated and maintained by the Kibale Uganda Development Union, Inc. (“KUDU”), a Florida non-profit corporation and a 501(c)(3) organization. Your privacy and the privacy of your internet communications is important to us. This policy is designed to help alleviate that concern by advising you how such personal information is maintained and/or used by KUDU.
General: KUDU respects the privacy of its online visitors. We do not collect personally identifiable information from site visitors unless it is provided voluntarily. You are not required to register or to provide any information, personal or otherwise, in order to view our site. Personally identifiable data such as your name, address, postal information, fax number, and email address are only provided to us upon voluntary submission by you. Personally identifiable information may be collected to respond to a stated desire to volunteer time to KUDU or to make a financial donation. All such information is used by KUDU for internal purposes only. KUDU does not sell such information to any third party and shares such personally identifiable information with third parties only when: (i) the person submitting the information authorizes KUDU to share it; (ii) sharing the information is a necessary operation of the site, for instance, to process a credit card donation; or, (iii) as required by law. Of course, we have no control over or responsibility for the data collection and use practices of third parties that process online credit card donation transactions.
Credit Card Information: KUDU employs encryption and https security protocols to communicate with your browser software. Security protocols make it extremely difficult for outsiders to intercept the credit card information you transmit to us. Entities involved in our credit card transaction process also employ sophisticated encryption and security protocols. If you are in any way concerned about utilizing the credit card donation process, you may effect contributions by mail.
Your Kids/Our Kids: While KUDU’s most fundamental objective is helping kids, and while we encourage children everywhere to learn more about our organization and the assistance we provide to the destitute children of the Kibale District of Uganda, this should be done only with proper parental knowledge, supervision, and support. KUDU complies with and supports the guidelines for interactive electronic media published by the Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau. As a result, special notices urging children to obtain parental consent before providing any personal information have been incorporated into our site. KUDU also uses its best efforts to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. KUDU does not collect personally identifiable information about children. Registration and/or subscription services related to this site are for persons at least thirteen years of age. Children younger than thirteen should not register with this site.
“Cookies” for Visitors: Certain non-personal information, such as your specific browser, the domain name of your internet service provider, number of site visits, and pages of our site viewed, may be automatically collected by our website through the use of “cookies.” Cookies are small computer generated text files a website can use to recognize return visitors, facilitate quicker access to and use of the site, allow the site to track usage behavior, and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements. Cookies are not programs that invade a visitor’s system or damage files. Typically, cookies work by assigning a unique number to the visitor that has no meaning outside the assigning site. If a visitor prefers not to have such information collected, there is typically a procedure in most web browsers that permits the visitor to easily deny the use of “cookie” technology. KUDU employs such technology to: (i) obtain non-personal information from site visitors to improve the online experience and facilitate visits within the site; (ii) respond to visitor questions about us; (iii) create our donor database; (iv) provide to you additional materials or information which may be of interest (from which you may “opt out” by checking the box provided on your computer screen or by contacting KUDU at the email address provided below); (v) protect our site and any potential legal liability in connection therewith; and/or, (vi) as required by applicable law.
REFUND POLICY: Because we rely on charitable contributions made through our system, once effected, contributions are not refundable.
SHIPPING AND RETURNS POLICY: KUDU does not currently ship products.
POLICY AMENDMENTS: Any of the foregoing policies may be amended by KUDU on a prospective basis at any time.
LEGAL NOTICES: KUDU MAKES NO WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO ANY INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS WEBSITE, OR WITH RESPECT TO THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR SUITABILITY OF THE SAME, AND ALL SUCH INFORMATION IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND WITH DISCLAIMER OF ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. NO ASSURANCE CAN BE PROVIDED THAT THE USE OF THIS WEBSITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE FROM ERROR, VIRUS, OR HARMFUL COMPUTER CODE. KUDU DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INFORMATION OR MATERIAL COMMUNICATED VIA THIS WEBSITE BY ANY THIRD PARTY.
