Meet the Staff


KUDU is heavily dependent upon the service contributions of the local staff in Kibale District for providing and arranging for care and schooling for the orphaned children. We  are eternally grateful for their dedicated support. They include:

Father Charles Nabwana, President – Director Home of the Holy Angels
Father Charles was born and raised in the Kibale District of Western Uganda. He has been a priest for over thirty years and has served in a variety of positions both in the United States and Uganda. He served nine years, as the Academic Dean, Katigondo National Major Seminary, Masaka, Uganda. In addition, Father Charles served as the Director of the Catechetical Center, Hoima, Uganda. In the United States, he served in parish ministry as a pastor in the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin; he also served several years as a Hospital Liaison Staff Chaplain for several local hospitals in Orlando and Daytona Beach, Florida. In 2012, he returned to Uganda to serve as the full-time Director of the Home of the Holy Angels in Kibale. He returns to the United States every year to greet supporters of the orphanage/school and to raise money for continued operations and necessary expansion.

Fr. Charles

Jesca  Namata Amooti, Teacher Incharge & Caterer
Born in St. Mary’s Catholic Parish, Kagadi. She is aged 30 and is a single mother of a daughter Winnie Nanyonjo aged 12 (who is going to Secondary school). After Secondary school she studied at Kibale Nursery Teacher’s college in 2003-2004 and obtained a teaching certificate. She has had six years of experience teaching early childhood education in two outstanding schools in Kibale district. She taught baby class for 4 years (2005-2008) and has been Head infant and class teacher baby class 2009/2010. She is joining The Home of The Holy Angels as class teacher in Nursery class.
Her main aim is to set unbeatable standards for the school so that our nursery and primary school will be the best in the whole district of Kibale. She is promising to bring a conspicuous improvement in educational, social, mental, moral, spiritual and health development in our children and influence the family members/caretakers of those youngsters. She is a hardworking lady, likes dealing with young children, story telling, playing netball and soccer, watching children’s programs on TV and growing vegetables. She is proud to be part of the family of the Holy Angels as Teacher in Charge and School Caterer.

Nusery Teacher

Fidelis Nassanga Amooti,
Matron Incharge of Girl’s Dormitory

Single mother of  6, born in Bujuni Parish, 45 years ago. After her primary education she did secondary education at Old Kampala Senior Secondary School in 1977. She then joined commercial college in Nyamitanga Mbarara District where she obtained a certificate in typing and book keeping and has minimal knowledge in computers.Working experience: Worked at St. Kirigwajjo Catholic Secondary School in Kibale for 10 years. Then worked at EMESCO Development foundation as secretary, cashier and custom relations officer.

Hobbies: she likes young children, music (especially church music), Dance and Drama.

She started working as Matron at home of The Holy Angels June 1st 2010. She enjoys her job looking after the children, caring for them when they are sick,  washes their uniforms and bed sheets, and dresses them for school or Church services.


Fidelis Nassanga Matron

Margaret Namukisa Ateenyi, Assistant Matron Incharge of Boys’ Dormitory
Formally a cook at Holy angels but now is Assistant Matron. She is 31 years old born at Nyamarunda Kibedi Parish and did primary studies from 1986 to 1992 then 1993 to 1995 studied up to senior three. She is a single mother of three children, one of whom Joseline Kunihira is deaf and mute and the other two are twins (Babirye Rosetti & Oliva Nakato).

She worked at Nyamigisa Catholic parish as a house keeper & cook for the priests. She is experienced in preparing food for children and adults.

Her hobbies include watching soccer, and playing net-ball, and playing various games with children. She is very happy in her job to be working and looking after children. She dislikes parents who don’t want educate their children.

Tomusange Yustus Amooti, 1st Grade Teacher
Born 1951 at Kateete near Kibeedi and had his  education at Nyamarunda and Naigana after which he  went to teacher’s  Bulera Teachers’ Training college and became a teacher in 1968. Taught at the following primary schools: Nyamarunda, Kibedi , Kyengabi and Katale. Then after further  studies at Bulera TTC became a  grade 3 teacher and acted as headmaster at Kyengabi, Kabale and Kibeedi primary school. He has taught so many important people who are Government servants and good citizens. Is married with three children.

He retired this year but being such a handy,  experienced , and highly gifted teacher he was accepted to teach at The Holy Angels primary school as a 1st grade teacher. Having grown up as an orphan, he wants to give the best knowledge and motivate the children to achieve  the best education  to fit well in the community and be useful citizens.

Tomusange Yustus Amooti, 1st Grade Teacher

Annet Nabatanzi Abwooli, Cook & Cafeteria
Born  March 23rd 1985at Kamuroza Kibale District.  Did her primary education  at Kihemba then  did one year of  senior school.  She a single mother and has worked as cook for 2 years in other shools before joining Holy Angels as a COOK. She enjoys games, netball and watching movies.

Anna the cook

Vincent  Kaahwa  Abooki, Night Watch Man,
Assistant Cook and General Maintainance

Born 1982 at Muhorro Parish, 18 miles from Holy Angels. He studied at Muhorro primary school after which he started working as a night watchman and cook at St Margaret Mary Senior Secondary School then at St Adolf Secondary school. He then joined Home of Holy Angels May 2011 as Night Watch Man, Assistant Cook and General Maintainance. He is married with 3 children.
